The list of symptoms that people experience with Lupus is extensive. It is often hard to diagnose Lupus based on symptoms alone because the symptoms are often very vague and mimic other diseases. Here is a list of some of the more common Lupus symptoms:
Joint pain/stiffness
Rash, specifically butterfly-shaped across the face
Light sensitivity
Extreme Fatigue
Brain Fog/Loss of concentration/Memory Issues
Headaches
Low-grade fever
Loss of hair/alopecia
Swelling/Fluid retention
Sores in the mouth
Chest pain when taking a deep breath
If you experience any of these symptoms you should see your doctor. Having these symptoms does not necessarily mean you have Lupus, but that you should have further evaluation. In my next couple posts I will discuss how Lupus is diagnosed and the new diagnostic criteria.
What were your first symptoms?
